CAD Technician

We are seeking an in-person, CAD Technician to support our engineering and production teams by maintaining, improving, and expanding our library of mobile bleacher designs. This role plays a key part in ensuring our CAD models, drawings, and assembly packages are accurate, standardized, and ready for mass production.
This is a hands-on, in-person role based at our Simcoe, Ontario shop, ideal for someone who enjoys working independently while collaborating closely with multiple departments.

Key Responsibilities
Ensure existing CAD models are accurate, up to date, and meet company standards
Update and implement CAD and document changes on existing bleacher designs as required
Create and correct engineering drawings in accordance with company and industry drawing standards
Develop and maintain mass production assembly packages for new and existing bleacher models
Apply a strong understanding of Canadian and relevant international building codes and standards to designs and documentation
Prepare drawings and documentation to support manufacturing and compliance

• Order and organize parts for new builds using MRPeasy (MRP system)
• Maintain organized part structures, BOMs, and revision control
• Communicate and facilitate discussions between engineering, production, and shop teams to resolve design and manufacturing challenges
• Support continuous improvement and innovation in product design and manufacturing processes

Qualifications & Skills
Strong experience with SolidWorks (required)
Proven engineering drawing experience, including assemblies and production drawings
Experience with part organization, BOMs, and revision control
Background or strong interest in manufacturing, fabrication, or shop environments
Working knowledge of Canadian building codes (international standards an asset)
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Comfortable working independently, with minimal supervision
• Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate across multiple departments
• Passion for innovation and improving conventional designs
